During high school and more recently through my brother Michael's eyes, I have known Timmy and am aware of his great challenges and suffering. Michael and Timmy are two peas in a pod, sharing interests in carpentry and family, as well as a hilarious and understated sense of humor. I know my brother's loss is deep and tremendous. Timmy's suffering is over, and we know he's with his beloved wife, but living without him will never be easy. We thank God for the gift of this unique person and soul. May he surely rest in peace and may God bless and hold up his family through their sorrow.

Gone From My Sight by Henry Van Dyke

I am standing upon the seashore. A ship, at my side,
spreads her white sails to the moving breeze and starts
for the blue ocean. She is an object of beauty and strength.
I stand and watch her until, at length, she hangs like a speck
of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.

Then, someone at my side says, "There, she is gone."

Gone where?

Gone from my sight. That is all. She is just as large in mast,
hull and spar as she was when she left my side.
And, she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port.
Her diminished size is in me -- not in her.

And, just at the moment when someone says, "There, she is gone,"
there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices
ready to take up the glad shout, "Here she comes!"

And that is dying...

Dearest Harner Family and all extended Family.

Danny and I are so saddened at the passing of Timmy. What a very special person he was and we will miss his smile and constant optimism. Thanks to his speciality with woodworking, we have a much prettier home than before Timmy worked his magic on it. But our hearts are hurting at the idea of not being around this man that always had something good and positive to say. In his quiet way, he was stronger than anyone we know.

Timmy would play with our Cockers because he also had a Cocker and like us, was a loving parent. The Brodt family, mostly Joe, have know Timmy since their years at Gaithersburg High School. Timmy had so many people that loved him and will miss him.

I know that Timmy missed Marty so much and now they are together with God. I can't imagine the joy that they both are experiencing now. Finally both at total peace with no pain or suffering ever again.

Danny and I are sure the family will receive God's loving peace in knowing that they too will see both of them again, never to be separated.

With our deepest love and sympathy,
Dan and Suzanne Brodt
