I'm very sorry to only now hear of Dave's passing through a mutual co-worker. I worked very closely with Dave on the CBP ACE project around 2004-2006. Dave was the lead developer on my team. Through the course of several years, I was often inspired by his technical brilliance and dedication, but also by his warmth and humanity as I got to know him as a person. He was going through a very tough time with the loss of his young son, but yet still had time for me and remained dedicated to his team. I felt his grief as he shared his personal struggles with me, and I am just so sorry to hear of his own illness and passing only a few years later. I'm sure he is greatly missed by his family and friends.

I worked with Dave from the end of 2003 through to mid 2011 on the ACE program for the Customs & Border Protection agency. He was one of the most generous and genuine co-workers - as well as being such a smart developer. I will remember his warmth to everyone always.
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you.

I have been praying for our Lord's peace and comfort for Karin, Joel, and Kristen. I wanted to share this memory of a different side of Dave. In April, we built a memory when Dave and Kristen helped by twisting balloon creations for the kids at the Clarksburg 5K race. Each kept smiling and each took care of every person who asked them for a balloon creation for about 90 minutes. Both said they would love to do it again! A pleasure to have spent that morning serving together.

It is hard to know what to post on this site but I want to be able to express my condolences to his loving family. David was a part of my life for seven years (1985 - 1992). I am very thankful the Lord brought Karin into his life and that he was able to build a family with her. What I remember about David, is how he introduced me to Contemporary Christian Music. I enjoyed singing as he played the keyboard in his home and hearing him play keyboards in a group called 'Alexander'. Going to Creation with friends, skiing at Seven Springs, and camping. Yes, he loved the outdoors. He loved to make people laugh and always wore a smile. He cared for others, as you will hear and read about his life, which is why it was easy for him to make many friends and leave a special place in all our hearts. One thing I will treasure is my Bible that Dave gave to me. Dave is now in Heaven and continuing his worship of our Lord along with Zachery. My prayers go out to all his family who I will always love. Karin, you have such a strong Christian support system. I know you and your two kids are left in good hands to help you get through this.

We are so sad to hear of Dave's passing. Though we had not seen each other in quite a while, he was always considered a close friend. He was such a part of our lives for many years. He introduced us and we have now been married for 25 years. We will continue to pray for his loved ones. We are thankful for the assurance that we will one day see him again in Heaven.

You will be missed. I have many sweet memories of you but one I especially loved was singing by the piano at your parents home.
