My beloved, Ms. Alice...who is no longer "in the palace"; I miss you dearly. When my mother became your permanent nurse and caregiver, you found her and she became an inductee to your family. But when you were taken out of Sunrise & brought to Damascus...you found us...and I'm so grateful that you did. Ms. Alice, you became my Grandma...the one I always wanted, but didn't receive. Thank you for encouraging me to continue my studies in Business Management & Accounting. I'll never forget your memories (and jokes) about the Accounting profession. And oh my, how I miss our "Girly, Girl" days... setting your hair, giving you a manicure and watching movies on the Turner Classic Movies channel. I still can't believe you are gone...but then again, you aren't..you are still with me. I add extra decor to the Christmas tree every year (just as you liked it), I never let a drumstick go to waste (just as you wouldn't) and my feet still move just the right way when I hear a waltz (just as yours would). I love you so much, Ms. Alice. And I miss you so much more than that. We'll be together again. And when we do, we'll "Meet each other in St. Louis", "Sing in the rain", and spill our secrets on which of the "7 Brides" were meant for the "7 brothers". Love you always and forever my lady. Rest in Peace, "My Loverly".
