William J. Topolewski Obituary

William John Topolewski (Bill, Top), 80, of New Market, MD passed away peacefully at home on January 1, 2025, after a short battle with cancer.


Bill was born on September 21, 1944, in Bayonne, NJ. He was the son of the late Anthony & Ana Topolewski. Bill is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Barbara; his children Michele Tregoning (Mitch), Alison Topolewski, Sara Topolewski & BJ Topolewski (Hillary); his grandchildren, Olivia and Kaitlyn Tregoning, Adreanna Ancil, and Theo and Bella Topolewski. He was preceded in death by a brother Richard Topolewski and sister Francis Schaefer.


Bill earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Bryant University and Master’s Degree from Wagner College. He retired from the Federal Government as a Senior Executive after 35 years. He developed financial systems for multiple government agencies. After his retirement, he worked as a consultant.


Bill had a passion for the NY Giants, surf fishing, spending time at the Outer Banks, and operating his drone. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was active in his church and earlier in his life the Boy Scouts, earning his Eagle Scout Award.


The family will host a visitation on Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 10AM, followed by a funeral mass at 11AM at St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church, 4103 Prices Distillery Road, Ijamsville, MD 21754. Burial will immediately follow at All Souls Cemetery.


In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in his name to Frederick Health Hospice.
