William Orlando Shirk Jr. 72, of Damascus Maryland passed away March 4th, 2025, in the presence of his family after a long hard battle with esophageal cancer. He was the husband of Tobi L. Shirk, his wife of 52 ½ years. They were married on May 19th, 1972. 

    Born February 4th, 1953, at Montgomery General Hospital in Olney Maryland. Son of living Ella Mae Shirk & late William Orlando Shirk Sr. 

    Surviving in addition to his wife & mother are three children, Christopher Shirk (Rebecca), Shawn Shirk (Kelly), Katie Kelly (Christopher). His grandchildren, Joseph Shirk (Cynthia), Alissa Shirk (Franklin), Tyler Shirk, Brianna Shirk, McKenzie Kelly, Logan Kelly & great grandson, Grant Shirk. His sister Sharon Long (Richard). As well as many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, & many in laws. 

    William is preceded in death by his father, William Orlando Shirk Sr, his brother Michael Shirk, his sisters Carolyn Mosner & Pamela Shirk, his mother and father-in-law Ellis & Vada Mullinix, and his brother-in-law Bruce Mullinix. 

    William attended Linganore High School and graduated class of 1971. He then went on and worked for the Montgomery County Parking in Silver Spring, a wonderful craftsman. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing his guitar, loving his many cats, & painting pretty pictures. He was always doing something outside, whether it was making his yard look the best on the street, keeping his truck nice and sparkly, or teaching his grandkids how to fish and shoot bows/guns.  

Friends are invited to call 3-5 p.m. Tuesday March 11 at Molesworth-Williams Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus, Maryland 20872.  Funeral services Will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 12 at the funeral home.  Pastor Dave Rapids will officiate.  Interment will follow in Providence Methodist Cemetery, Kemptown.  A Luncheon will follow in the church hall.

    The Pallbearers will be his sons Christopher & Shawn Shirk, grandson Joseph Shirk, son-in-law Christopher Kelly, brother-in-law Richard Long, and nephew James Ward
