Shirley L. Smith Obituary
Shirley Layton Smith, age 95, passed away on Oct. 21, 2025, at Sun Valley at Ridge Overlook in Taylorsville, MD. Born March 5, 1930, in Florence to the late Charles and Pearl Layton. Her husband was Robert F. Smith who passed away in June 2020. They had been married 71 years.
Surviving are two children: Sharon (Paul) Slagle and Neil (Joy) Smith and five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Noreen Gordon. She was a long-time member of Jennings Chapel United Methodist Church.
A graveside service will be held at Jennings Chapel Cemetery on Saturday, Nov. 8th, at 11 a.m.
