Ruth Arlene Walter

Ruth Arlene Walter, age 91, of Damascus, Maryland died Sunday, September 25, 2022. She was the beloved wife of the late Douglas Walter, her husband of 50 years.
Arlene was born September 6, 1931 near Clagettsville, Montgomery County, Maryland. She was the youngest of two children of Fuller and Millie Moxley Phebus.
Arlene was a lifelong member of Montgomery United Methodist Church, Damascus; and was active in the Heritage Circle. She enjoyed family, gardening, bowling, bingo, travel and meeting friends at McDonald's.
Surviving her are three sons: Robert Walter and his wife Kathy of Walkersville; Ronald Walter of Damascus, and Dennis Walter and his wife Connie of Woodbine. Four grandchildren: Heather Walter of Frederick, Emily Atwell and husband Philip of Frederick; and Madeline and Benjamin Walter of Woodbine. She also leaves two great grandchildren Olivia and Evan Atwell of Frederick; and numeros nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband Doug she is preceded in death by her sister Ruby Lawson.

Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, October 5 at Molesworth-Williams Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus, Maryland. Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, October 6, at Montgomery United Methodist Church, 28325 Kemptown Road, Damascus, Maryland. Pastor Andrew Peck-McClain will officiate. Interment will immediately follow in Montgomery Methodist Cemetery.
