Rose M. Martin Obituary

Rose Marie Martin, 84, of Boyds, Maryland, passed away at home, after a lengthy illness, on Wednesday, June 19, 2024.


Rose was born on November 14, 1939, to Richard Brantly and Lillie Marie Keeney in Woodsboro, Maryland. Rose graduated from Frederick High School in 1957. After graduation she went on to serve her country and joined the US Army. She received an Honorable Discharge in 1960.


In 1961, Rose met her husband Stanley R. Martin in Walkersville, Maryland, and they were married that year in July. They had five children: Dawn M. Horvath, Stanley R. Martin, Jr., Thaddeus R. Martin, Brantly R. Martin, and Stacey R. Martin.


In 1979 she began working in the office of the family business Stan’s Appliance Service, Inc, and retired in 2009. She loved to bake and cook; and share her delicious food and tasty baked goods with family and friends. She was an avid flower gardener and enjoyed working in her yard.


Rose is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, one sister, her husband Stanley R. Martin, and two sons Thaddeus Martin, and Brantly Martin. She is survived by her daughter Dawn Horvath (Christopher), her son Stanley Martin, Jr., (Melissa), and daughter Stacey Martin. As well as grandchildren: Miranda Martin, Lauren Martin, Megan Martin, Thaddeus Horvath, and great grandson Preston.


 There will be a graveside service in Pleasant Hill Cemetery 2:30 pm on Friday, June 28, at Bush Creek Church of the Brethren, 4821 Green Valley Road, Monrovia, Maryland, 21770
