Rosalie Weller Obituary

Rosalie Elizabeth Weller 83, of Libertytown, MD, sadly passed away in the early morning of March 18, 2023, at home and surrounded by her family. She was the wife of the late Larry L. Weller, her husband of over 45 years.

Born on June 2, 1939, in Travilah, MD, Rosalie was the daughter of the late Francis Earl and Ella Mae Henderson. She was incredibly close with her parents, instilling in her the importance of faith and family that she carried with her throughout her life.

Upon graduating from Richard Montgomery High School, Rosalie began her career at the Department of Energy working in D.C. She went on to become the Administrative Secretary, for the DOE’s Office of Fusion Energy Sciences, retiring after over 30 years of service. She was also a very active, beloved, and dedicated parishioner of St. Peter the Apostle Catholic Church. She was a member of multiple ministries most notably the Ladies Club, where she was always busy planning and working events to support her church, family, and friends; and St. Peter’s Choir where she was able to do one of her favorite things, sing!

Rosalie loved her family deeply; her children and grandchildren were the light of her life. She was the perfect daughter, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, friend, and colleague. She was an expert at making people feel special and loved and she knew when you needed a hug or a laugh. Everyone who loved Rosalie can say that they have received a sweet card or handwritten note in the mail, reminding you that someone cares. She is irreplaceable and will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew her.

She is survived by three children, Corinne Docca and her husband Bill, Gary Weller and his wife Teresa, and Courtney Ridgely and her husband Chip; 6 grandchildren, Carly, Jake, and Luke Docca and McKenzie, Tanner, and Addison Ridgely; and her younger brother Francis Henderson and his wife Lucy.
