Robert Arthur Pizzano “Bob”, also affectionately known as “Grampy”, died of natural causes at the age of 96, on May 24th, 2021.
Bob is preceded in death by his wife Sara Jean Pizzano (Van Meter), his sister Phyllis Pope and his brothers Carl Pizzano and William Pizzano.
Bob is survived by his 3 children; William and wife Lucretia and their daughters Brittany, Brooke, and Mara; Pamela Bowers and her husband Mark and their children Jennifer and Daniel; Neal and his wife Mary and his children Lauren and Robert. He is also survived by 7 great grandchildren.
Bob was a World War II veteran in the Army. His rank was Technician Fifth Grade in the 4th Infantry Division serving in France and Germany. After discharge from the Army he ended up settling in the Washington DC area and completed his education at George Washington University. Subsequently, he worked for Buick Motor Division of General Motors Corporation for 36 years until he retired.
He enjoyed time with his family in his native Massachusetts, painting, relaxing with a crossword puzzle, and watching his favorite tv shows.
Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, June 3, at Molesworth-Williams Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus, Maryland. Bob will be inurned at Arlington National Cemetery Columnbarium along with his beloved wife Sara, at a later date.
