Ralph Buel Palmer III, 62, of Mount Airy, Maryland, passed away on May 6, 2026, in Rockville, Maryland. Born on April 29, 1964, in Washington, D.C.
Ralph was smart, funny, sharp-witted, and generous. He had a lifelong love of music and enjoyed listening to (almost) every genre imaginable. Music remained a constant presence throughout his life. He was also an avid collector of guitars and appreciated the history behind them. Ralph enjoyed family beach vacations, occasional surf fishing, and spending time with close friends and family.
More than anything, Ralph loved his children, Jamie Palmer and Katie Palmer, who survive him and will carry his memory forward. He is also survived by his siblings, Linda Palmer (John Hanagan), Christine Palmer Freeman (Mark Freeman), and Theodore Palmer; four nieces and one nephew; and Kim, the mother of his children and someone who shared a lifetime of family and memories with him. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph Palmer Jr. and Margaret Petrini.
Those who knew Ralph will remember his intelligence, humor, and generosity. His family hopes that whenever a favorite song is heard, a laugh is shared, or a guitar is picked up, Ralph will be remembered.
A graveside service is being planned for family and close friends.
