Michael Andrew Kelly ("Mike") born February 12, 1958, Bridgeport, Connecticut; died April 5, 2025, Fort Myers, Florida. 

Michael Kelly passed away suddenly but peacefully in his sleep on Saturday April 5, at his home in Fort Myers, Florida. Mike is survived by his wife of 46 years, Theresa Kelly. Mike was predeceased by his two sons, Michael Andrew Jr. and Joseph Ryan. He is survived by his older brother James and his wife, Mary of Ocean View, Delaware and his twin sister, Mary Beth and her husband Fred Brown of Frederick, Maryland. He also has several nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.

Mike graduated from Our Lady of Good Counsel High School in 1976. He then enlisted with the United States Air Force and served on various bases in the United States and Korea. He also attended Classes at Wesley College in Dover Delaware and Montgomery College where he earned an Associate's degree in computer science. It was during this time that he met his wife, Theresa. They wed in Monroe, Connecticut and after Mike's discharge, settled in Montgomery County, Maryland where they raised their family. Mike enjoyed a successful career as a Senior Programmer with various Department of Energy contractors over the years. He eventually retired in 2022 and settled in Fort Myers Florida.

Mike and Theresa were a perfect match. They were both profound dog lovers and operated a volunteer foster service where they placed dozens of animals with families. They also adopted a number of dogs welcoming them into their home. Mike leaves behind two dogs in Florida; Max and Morris. They both enjoyed Caribbean Cruises and made several voyages throughout the Caribbean and Alaska. Both were fans of the NFL with Mike a lifelong Redskin fan and Theresa pulling for the Patriots. 

Mike was a very kind and compassionate person. His quick wit and dry sense of humor were always a hit at gatherings. He also loved playing the bass guitar and was in a few different bands when he was younger. The world was a much better place with him.He will be sorely missed.

Visitation will be held at the Molesworth-Williams Funeral Home at 26401 Ridge Road in Damascus, Maryland on Thursday, April 24 from 10 am to noon. A burial at Gate of Heaven cemetery in Silver Spring, Maryland will follow at 1:00 pm.
