Maureen K. Siess

Maureen Keating Siess, 61, of Damascus Md., died Monday, October 10, 2022.

Born February 10, 1961, in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of Jerome David Keating and the late Patricia Redman Keating. She was the wife of Robert Douglas Siess Jr of Damascus, to whom she was married for 29 years.

Maureen graduated from Mount St. Mary’s University in 1983. Following college, she started her career in the securities industry working for the National Association of Security Dealers (NASD) and its successor organization Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). She worked for those organizations for 38 years, rising from analyst to Associate Director. In 1990, she met Robert Douglas Siess Jr, and they were married in April of 1993. Maureen welcomed son Matthew Joseph in 1995 and daughter Catherine Elisabeth in 1998.

In addition to her career pursuits and lovingly caring for her family and two English Setters, Maureen enjoyed hobbies such as reading (especially suspense novels), gardening and collecting rare and unusual coins.

Maureen is survived by her husband Robert, two children, Matthew Joseph Siess of Hunt Valley, Md., Catherine Elisabeth Siess of Gaithersburg, Md, father Jerome Keating of Gettysburg and siblings Claire Barnett and her husband, Richard, of Greencastle, Pa., Patricia Snider of Frederick, Jerry Keating of Frederick, Teresa Hitt and her husband, Robert, of Ellicott City, and Michael Keating and his wife Kim of Douglasville, Ga.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, at Molesworth-Williams Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road Damascus, Md.

 A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 19, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 9240 Damascus Rd. Damascus, Md. 20872. Monsignor Edward Filardi will serve as celebrant. The burial service will follow the mass at All Souls Cemetery, 11401 Brink Rd. Germantown, Md. 20876.
