Marjorie A. Greenwood Obituary

Marjorie (Marjie) Andrea Greenwood, 73 of Clarksburg, Md, passed away November 18th, 2023. 


Marjie was born on October 2, 1950 in Gloucster, Massachusetts, the daughter of Mario Iacobucci Andrea and Elizabeth (Betty) Bowes Andrea. In 1954, the family moved to Yokohama, Japan, where her father was stationed in the Navy for approximately 2 years.  The family moved back to Maryland and Marjie graduated from Winston Churchill High School in Potomac, Md in 1968. 


In 1973, Marjie married Richard (Buster) Alan Greenwood and they just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.  They moved to Clarksburg, Md, in 1976 where they have lived since and raised their family.


Marjie retired from the Department of Energy in 2012 after 32 years.  She really enjoyed her job and coworkers and has kept in touch with many of them after retirement.


Marjie really enjoyed visiting with family and friends.  Marjie was very Patriotic and was proud of her country.  Marjie always loved decorating for the holidays and enjoyed family gatherings.


Marjie is survived by her husband, Richard (Buster) A. Greenwood; her children, Valerie Larsen of Fort Mill, S.C., Elizabeth (Steven) Jacobs of Frederick, MD., Richard (Jillian) Greenwood Jr. of Falling Waters, WV; three grandchildren that she loved very much, Tyler, Paige, and Maverick.  Her loving sisters and their spouses, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.


Services will be held at Mount Olivet Cemetery June 7, 2024, at 11: a.m. 515 Market St, Frederick, Maryland 21701


A Luncheon and Celebration of Life will be at 1:30 p.m. at the Francis Scott Key American Legion Post 11, 1450 Taney Ave. Frederick, Maryland 21702
