Lois Mae McConemy Wieder went peacefully to be with her Lord on January 12, 2022. Lois was born on March 9, 1934 to Frances and Raymond McConemy in their home in Philadelphia, PA.
She graduated from Beaver College (now Arcadia University} in 1956. She met Earle Wieder while working at the Frankford Arsenal and married him on September 10, 1955. She stayed home to raise her four daughters until her husband, Earle Wieder, died on January 13, 1972. She began teaching at Westfield Friends School and taught preschool aged children for over 30 years. She had a stellar reputation as a teacher and developed many lasting relationships with students and parents. She was also the primary caregiver for her mother, Frances Amanda McConemy.
She was an active member at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Cinnaminson, NJ serving as an elder, a deacon and with the Christian Education Programs. She blessed many with meals, cards and friendships. Lois and Earle helped plant this church as well in 1961. She had the opportunity to visit Israel, and she considered this a spiritually impactful trip. She retired from teaching in 2003 and devoted her time before and after retirement visiting her daughters and family in CA, ND, MD and NJ.
Lois is known as Nana to her 11 grandchildren Heather MacKenzie Chapman (Jared), Christopher MacKenzie (Holly), Jesse Strum, Kimberly Strum, Renae Strum, Nathaniel Strum, Scott Elliott Rickett, Samuel Rickett, Amanda Rickett, Michael Cain (Kayla) and Justin Cain, and 5 great grand-children.
