Karen Zoller Obituary

Karen Rose Edwards Zoller

11/13/1956 – 02/13/2023

Karen Zoller of Germantown, MD passed away peacefully on February 13, 2023 at the age of 66. She was born in Washington, D.C. to the late Granville Booth Edwards and Frances Ross Edwards.

To know Karen was to love Karen. She spent decades working in the Montgomery County Health and Human Services organization as a Health Room Technician across multiple schools in the county, making lasting impacts on the students and staff that had the pleasure to cross paths with her. She took great pride in her professional work, but nothing compared to the pride she had in her family and friends.

Karen was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend. She never put herself first but was always at the ready when others needed her. She spent every possible minute with her family and friends as they truly were her entire world. Whether it was trips with her girlfriends or extended family stays at ‘The Country’, all it took was a little sunshine and the people she cared about around her to have a good time.

The last few years proved challenging as Karen relentlessly battled against cancer, promising to never give up, and she kept that promise. Her determination and resilience were representative of the great, strong woman she was and will be forever remembered as.

Karen was, and really always will be, ‘the glue’. She is survived by her husband of 40 years Joseph Zoller, her daughters Elizabeth Bulger (Jeff) and Erika Hoffman (Bryan), five grandchildren (Dalton, Wyatt, Brock, Josephine, and Emma), her brothers Tony Edwards (Charmaine) and John Edwards, her sisters Vickie Galloway (Bob) and Helen Ray (Michael), and countless nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00am on Friday, February 24th, 2023 at the Difference Makers Church of Damascus, MD (11210 Bethesda Church Rd, Damascus, MD 20872).

The Service will be immediately followed by a Celebration of Life Luncheon at the Damascus American Legion Post 171 (10201 Lewis Dr, Damascus, MD 20872).
