Desiderio – Joyce (Consler) entered into eternal rest on November 17, 2022. She was a beloved wife of 53years to John Richard Desiderio. She was predeceased by her parents Ralph and Helen Consler; her brother Robert Consler; sister-in-law Susan Consler-Versa; and brothers-in- law John Iuppa and Lawrence Block. She is survived by her brother Donald Consler; her sister Gayle Iuppa; brother-in-law Thomas (Peggy) Desiderio; and 4 sisters-in-law: Ann Consler; Rosemary (Peter) Yurkewicz; Margaret Block; and Kathleen Faticone. Joyce was a loving aunt to 14 nieces and nephews, 19 great nieces and nephews and 5 great, great nieces and nephews.
Joyce traveled and lived in many states and countries supporting her husband through a combined 41-year military and Federal Civil Service career. Settling in Maryland, Joyce started an independent business working for twenty-two years as a self-employed bookkeeper for up to ten local businesses at one time. Joyce always made the time to volunteer in many important church activities such decorating the altar area of multiple Catholic Churches, organizing “Time, Talent and Treasure” fairs, and assisting the Red Cross staff and patients at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center for over ten years. She blessed the hearts of all who knew her.
Friends may call at Molesworth Williams Funeral Home located at 26401 Ridge Road; Damascus, MD from 2-4 on November 28, 2022. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Paul’s Catholic Church located at 9250 W. Damascus Road; Damascus MD at 11:00 on Tuesday, November 29, 2022. Internment will take place on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at Holy Sepulchre Catholic Cemetery in Rochester, NY.
