Jesse “Punk” Pearl King Jr. of Clarksburg, Maryland passed away peacefully on December 17, 2023, at Holy Cross Germantown Hospital.

 He was born at home in Clarksburg, Maryland on July 25, 1937, and lived in the area for his entire 86 years.

 Jesse is survived by his sister Mary Ellen Smith, his nieces Debbie Crawford of Virginia, and Michelle Messner and her husband Stephen of Oklahoma, his great nephew Melvin Eric Smith, and his great nieces Jessica Morris and her family of Virginia, and Winfred Crawford and her family of Virginia. Jesse is predeceased by his father Jesse Pearl King Sr, his mother Edna Pearl King, and his brother Ira Leroy King.

Jesse was the first employee at Bell Nursery in Burtonsville, Maryland, hired in 1978 and worked well into retirement. After retiring he enjoyed sitting back in his recliner with an iced tea watching television, mowing the lawn, tinkering with equipment and cars around the house, and his Friday visits to Weis Markets in Damascus.

 As per Jesse’s request, no funeral or memorial service will be held.
