Grace Marcella Burch, age 98 of Southpoint, North Carolina, and formerly of Damascus, Maryland passed away Saturday, June 7, 2025.  She was the daughter of Robert Walters and Margaret Simmons.

Mrs. Burch is survived by her son Michael Burch and his wife Pam, a son-in-law Dennis Walters, 4 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, several nieces’ nephews, and many friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband James M. Burch and, and daughter Patricia Walters along with two sisters and two brothers.

She was a lifetime Member of the VFW and the American Legion, volunteered at the Damascus Methodist Harwood House, and the Damascus Volunteer Fire Department.

A graveside service for the family will be held at Clustered Spires Cemetery, 400 Linden Avenue, Frederick, Maryland 21703, 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 24, 2025. Followed by a luncheon for all family and friends at the Damascus Fire Department Activities Center, 10211 Lewis Drive, Damascus, Maryland 20872.  Doors will open at 11:30 am. with food at 12:30.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in her name to the SECU Hospice House of Brunswick, 955 Mercy Lane, Bolivia, N.C.  28422, Damascus Volunteer Fire Department, 26334 Ridge Road, Damascus, Maryland 20872, or to a charity of your choice.
