Gofferd Nails Buttrey went to be with his Lord and Savior. He was 78 years old. Born November 7th, 1945, to Avis Wilder & Robert Buttrey in Marriottsville, MD. Gofferd is 1 of 8 children.

Gofferd is the loving husband of Marilyn (Lynn) Buttrey. Married 40 years, together 48 years. Gofferd was preceded in death by his parents, his siblings- Jack, Lawrence, Sunny, David- and his daughter, Joy Buttrey.

The surviving children are John (& Trisha), Jennifer, Barbara (& Steve), and Belinda. He is a grandfather to Eva & Gwynn and Shelby & Tony. He is a great grandfather of 6. He has many nieces and nephews. 

Gofferd was disabled early in life and overcame barriers and many challenges. He was always there with a smile and wicked sense of humor. He was an inspiration to all who knew him. Gofferd loves his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ

  Viewing will be held on Friday, June 21, 2024, from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at the Tri-County Baptist Church (7821 Damascus Rd, Gaithersburg, MD 20882).

 There will be a brief viewing starting at 10:00 am. until services begins at 11: am Saturday, June 22, 2024, at Tri-County Baptist Church. Procession to Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery for Graveside Service in Lisbon, MD.

Luncheon to follow at Tri-County Baptist Church.
