George Jacob Davis Jr., 87, of New Market, MD, passed away peacefully on December 18th, 2024. He was the beloved husband of the late June C. Cline-Davis.

George was born on May 7th, 1937, in Unionville, Frederick County, MD. He was the son of George J. Davis and Bessie Strausbaugh-Davis. George was a farm boy who raised milking cows, bailing hay, and raising crops on the farm. At age 19, George joined the United States Airforce for 4 years. He was Airman 2nd Class in the AirForce. After an honorable discharge from the Airforce, he worked at Spring State Hospital for a short time where he then, met his lovely wife June Charm Cline-Davis. They were married for 61 years until her passing on April 1st, 2023. George worked at Hahn’s Transportation, New Market, MD where he retired after 40 years. George loved to mow grass, help people, and help his wife plant flowers around the house.  

He is survived by two sons, Donald Wayne Davis and David William Davis. Granddaughter, Chelsey R. Davis-Lowery and husband Kelly Lowery. Great Grandchildren, Addisyn Lowery, Colton Lowery, and Hunter Lowery.

He is preceeded in death by his son: Kenneth Eugene Davis, brother and sisters: Leo Strausbaugh, Grant Davis, Anna Long, Nettie Davis, and Lillian Smith, daughter in law: Penny R. Davis.

The family will receive friends on Saturday January 4th, 2025 at Molesworth-William Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road in Damascus, MD. From 10:00 a.m. until funeral services begin at 11:00 a. m. Inurnment will immediately follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Mount Airy.
