Frank Anderson

Frank Anderson, of Gaithersburg, died Saturday 18 Dec 2021.  He was born on 9 May 1963 in Honolulu, HI to Frank and Patricia Anderson, and was raised in Ringgold, VA.  Frank is survived by his mother, Patricia, his wife, Jennifer, and his daughter, Heather.

Frank attended Virginia Tech, where he met Jennifer.  They went on to have several adventures with their friends, riding motorcycles and mountain bikes, rock climbing and hiking up and down the East Coast, as well as in Colorado and Utah.

Frank and Jennifer embarked on their greatest adventure when their daughter, Heather, was born. Frank enjoyed showing Heather where to find all the best wild berry patches and delighted in cooking with her, especially smoking ribs together.

Frank worked for the Department of Chemistry at Virginia Tech and then for several biotechnology companies in the Gaithersburg area, most recently GlycoMimetics, and took pride in the medicines the company created.

Frank was in need of an organ transplant and spent the last weeks of his life at the University of Maryland Medical Center. The family would like to thank the staff there for their kindness as they tended him, and for the compassion they showed to Jen and Heather.
