Etta Nicolet Obituary

Etta Fuller Nicolet age, 98, of Damascus, Maryland, died Friday, November 15, 2024. She was the wife of the late Tell William Nicolet, Jr. who precedes her in 2001.


Born April 29, 1926, in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late George Albert and Winifred Morris Fuller.


Surviving her are sons:  Ted Nicolet of Damascus, and son Jacob Jacob;  Tell (Buddy) and Rosella Nicolet of Mechanisville, and children Kyle and Jordan; stepsons Ahmed Nicolet of Florida; Carl and Susan Nicolet and children of Detroit, Michigan; step daughter Jeanette & Hatim Eissa and children of Miami, Florida;  sisters Frances Tillis of Painesville, Ohio and daughters Marilyn and Carol; Mary Agnes Guth of Upland, California and sons Peter, David, and Richard, and many nieces and nephews.


Etta was employed by the Internal Revenue Service, transferred to Washington, DC to work for the Department of State Educational Exchange Program-subsequently working as a Program Officier for the Reception Centers in San Francisco,


Honolulu, Seattle and Miami. 


After the birth of her children, she returned to Government Service as Manager for one of the typing centers of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.  After retirement from the Government, she was employed by Vitro, and then became active in the selling of real estate-associated with Century 21, Monrovia, Shannon and Luchs of Damascus; and finally, for Weichert Realtors of Germantown.


She was an involved member of the Damascus Senior Center and took great delight in winning at Mah Jong, Head and Foot Canasta and Bridge.


She was also active in the Red Hats Association as Queen of the Ditzy Redhatters of Damascus and had many great times with her group at different functions throughout the years.


Inurnment will be with her husband in the Columnbarium at Arlington National Cemetery.  Further information will be announced at a later time. 


In lieu of flowers Memorial contributions may be made in Etta’s name to Salem United Methodist Church of Cedar Grove, 23725 Ridge Road, Germantown, Maryland 20876
