Dorothy Greisler, 91, of Mt. Airy, Maryland, passed into the presence of Christ on the afternoon of Tuesday, November 8, 2022.
Born in Pontiac, Michigan Oct 16, 1931, she lived a fulfilling life. The adopted daughter of Ralph and Alice Turney, she married Roy Greisler, Jr. her husband of 59 years. Roy died 10 years ago, but life remained meaningful as she and her cat Happy routinely interacted with family, friends, and the Jennings Chapel church community.
Dorothy is survived by her three sons and their wives (Roy III and Pam; Dave a widower from Stephanie; Brian and Debbie); and three grandchildren Matt (who is married to Joanna), Jennifer, and Luke. And those three great granddaughters … Matt and Joanna’s girls – Emily, Claire, and Olivia – always brought a smile!
In her later years Dorothy was supported by her caregiver Pam Shepherd. The family thanks Pam and her husband John for their commitment to uplifting Mom.
An R.N by training (once a nurse, always a nurse!) terms like caregiver, nurturer, and encourager defined Dorothy’s life.
It was a life well lived.
Friends may call Monday, November 14, 2022 at Jennings Chapel United Methodist Church, 2601 Jennings Chapel Road, Woodbine, MD 21797, from 12 noon until funeral services begin at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Dave Norton will be officiating. Interment will follow in Poplar Springs, Cemetery, Mt. Airy, MD.
