Chrysa Marie Thear, aged 61 years, passed away at her home in Brookeville, Maryland on Wednesday, May 12, 2021. Chrysa was born on July 28, 1959. She was predeceased by her parents, Thomas and Anna Thear.

Chrysa was a graduate of the University of Mississippi and received her Master’s degree from Michigan State University. She had a lengthy and successful career as a Senior Negotiations Executive with IBM. Alongside her career responsibilities, she dedicated a large part of her life caring for her parents. Chrysa was passionate about baking, gardening, and serving others within her community. She was especially fond of the Christmas holidays and loved spreading her joy for the season through her Winter Wonderland Christmas displays and through her business, “Christmas Magic.” Chrysa was on the Board of Directors for “Our House” and served on her HOA Board. She was an avid gardener, who often contributed to local food banks.

She is survived by two sisters, Debra Yakubik and Tania Ferguson, two brothers-in-law, five nieces, one nephew, five great nieces, and three great nephews.

The family will receive guests at Molesworth-Williams Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus, Maryland 20872, Tuesday, May 18,  2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. Those attending must wear a mask or adequate face covering while inside the building. Interment will be in Nesquehoning, PA on Thursday, May 20, 2021.
