Charles Michael "Mike" Lord was born February 11, 1935, to the late Leo C. and Madge O. Lord. He passed away peacefully on January 20, 2025. Mike was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Heloise (Keating) Lord, and his daughter, Marie Colette Lord. He is survived by his children, James Lord, Elizabeth (Lord) Spehr, and William Lord and his brother John L. Lord. He also leaves behind seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren who will cherish his memory. Mike grew up in the Bethesda and Silver Spring areas of Maryland. He served in the Naval Reserves, earned a Business Administration degree from the University of Maryland, and later became a Certified Internal Auditor. His professional journey began in commercial banking and expanded into various business ventures, including an opportunity that took him to Saudi Arabia.
At home, Mike found joy tending to his gardens. He had a particular fondness for roses, tulips, and daffodils, which flourished under his care. A passionate audiophile, he possessed an extensive knowledge of classical and jazz music that he loved to share with others. Mike’s life was marked by dedication to his family, his work, and his passions. May his memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
A visitation and service will be held at Molesworth-Williams P.A. Funeral Home 26401 Ridge Rd, Damascus, Md. 20872 on February 3, 2025, from 12: noon, to 1:p.m.
A graveside service will be held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery on February 7, 2025, at 12:noon, located at 13801 Georgia Ave, Silver Spring, MD 20906.
