Catherine Wallace, of Laytonsville, Maryland, passed away on January 23, 2022. Catherine, or Cathy to those that knew her best, was born July 26, 1942 to Joseph and Vita Mazzola in Brooklyn, NY.

Catherine worked for nearly 15 years at MetLife in Manhattan as an executive secretary before marrying her life’s love, Joseph, in 1975 and relocating to NJ.  There she raised two daughters, Laurie and Tiffany, remaining close with them into adulthood.  Catherine loved cooking and was an avid animal lover, caring for a numerous variety of pets over the years.

Catherine was most proud of her role as “Grandma” to her five grandchildren, Ava Grace, Josie Ella, Eli Hudson, Alexis Hope, and Dylan Thomas.  She was adored by her grandkids and persistently showered them all with love and gifts until her last day.

Catherine was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Joseph Wallace.  She is survived by her daughters, Laurie Pino (Daniel Pino) and Tiffany Wallace (Aaron Schetter); her grandkids, Ava Pino, Josie Pino, Eli Pino, Alexis Schetter, and Dylan Schetter; and her sister, Ann Brogna.  

Her loss is deeply felt by all that knew and loved her. 

Friends may call on Tuesday, February 1, at Molesworth-Williams Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus, Maryland, from 10 a.m. until funeral services begin at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in the New Jersey –Arneytown Veterans Cemetery, New Egypt, New Jersey at a later date. For those attending a mask or adequate face covering will be required.
