Carol Kay (Malone) Sokol – known as Kay by her friends and family – of Gaithersburg, MD passed away on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at the age of 64. She was born September 11, 1960, to the late Carolyn Ethyl (Turner) and Bobby Woodrow Malone.
As a Rockville native, Kay graduated from Richard Montgomery High School in 1978, and worked at the First National Bank in Rockville until 1995.
She was preceded in death by her husband of nearly 30 years, Steven Robert Sokol of Gaithersburg, MD, her parents Bobby and Carolyn Malone and three siblings: Mark, Micheal and Susan of Rockville, MD, and her father and mother-in-law, John and Barbara Sokol of Caro, MI.
She is survived by her daughter, Sarah N. Sokol; son, Timothy W. Malone; daughter-in-law, Angie Malone; three grandchildren: Samantha, Jackson and Logen Malone; brother Robert W. Malone; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday, October 11, at Molesworth-Williams Funeral Home. 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus, Maryland 20872, a eulogy will be given at 7 p.m. Interment will be private.
Kay will not have a burial service so the family requests that you omit flowers and please donate to the wounded warriors project in Kay’s name.
