Carol Boyd Mullinix

Carol Boyd Mullinix, 92, passed away on Thursday October, 27, 2022 at Country Meadows Assisted Living in Frederick, MD. Carol was born in Cedar Grove, MD on November 9, 1929 to the late Richard and Mae Grace Schaeffer. She was also predeceased by her first husband Robert S. Boyd, her second husband William E. Mullinix, her granddaughter Katherine, and great granddaughter Olivia.

Carol was the proud mother of five daughters. She is survived by Diane Swyka and husband Joe of Smyrna, DE, Ellen Mills and husband Joe of Frostburg, MD, Barbara Laudwein and husband Fred of Clarksburg, MD, Patty Moore and husband Chris of Clarksburg, MD, and Teresa Doggett and husband Stephen of Newark, DE. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, Robert, Megan, Angela, Kevin, Erin (Russell), Caroline, Carson, Sarah, Liz, and Maggie, as well as two great grandchildren, Charlotte and Colin.

She was a graduate of Damascus High School and a lifelong member of Upper Seneca Baptist Church. Carol enjoyed volunteering at the church’s Vacation Bible School, Church Nursery, Hospitality Committee, and Senior’s Group. She was also a member of the Damascus Travel Club and took many enjoyable trips with friends. Carol was a former employee of MCPS where she worked at Baker Middle School as a cashier. She also held a position at National Geographic Society in Rockville. In her later years, she worked at Butler’s Orchard in Germantown. Carol loved spending time with family and friends and being outdoors in the sunshine. She was a lover of all animals, especially cats, and gave a home to many over the years. One of her favorite places to be was the beach looking at the ocean.

Friends may call 4-7 p.m. Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at Molesworth-Williams Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus, MD 20872. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2022 at Upper Seneca Baptist Church, 23401 Davis Mill Road, Germantown, Maryland 20876. Reverend Dennis Felder her pastor will officiate. Interment will follow in Upper Seneca Baptist Cemetery.
