Calista D. Krop Obituary

(Calista) Diana Krop,of Frederick, Maryland, born on April 14th, 1949, passed to her heavenly home on February 7, 2025.
Diana graduated from Gaithersburg High School in 1967. She pursued a career in public relations and retired from the Dept of Energy in 2002. She served as administrative assistant to Pastor Mike of First Baptist Church of Green Valley where she also shared her love of music in playing the piano and leading cantatas. Her legacy is one of joy, laughter and encouragement to everyone she met. Her outgoing personality exuded the love of Jesus to everyone around her as she never met a stranger. She loved her family wholeheartedly and was a beacon of light and wisdom. She was the daughter of the late Sam and Calista Umberger.



She is survived by her loving husband, John Krop, and her children: Scott Moreland, Chris Moreland and wife Desiree Moreland, Julie Redmond and husband Cliff Redmond, and Kenny Santmier. Her cherished grandchildren: Destiny Helser and husband Tim Helser, Jessica Redman and husband Dylan Redman, Katelyn Moreland, Amelia Jefferson and husband Terence Jefferson, Stephanie Hahn and husband Robert Hahn, Abby Moreland, Hailey Redmond and Kyle Redmond. She also leaves behind her sister Dena Magruder and husband Steve Magruder, as well as 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.



The family will welcome friends from 10am - 12pm on Thursday, February 20th with services immediately following at 12pm at First Baptist Church of Green Valley, 11402 Ridge Lane, Monrovia.
Long time devoted friend, Pastor Mike Yoho, will officiate the service.


In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Green Valley.
