Betty B. Smith, 87, of Gaithersburg, Maryland died Saturday, December 14, 2024. At Wilson Health Care Center, Gaithersburg, Md.  She was the beloved wife of the late William (Bill) R. Smith who died 2010, her husband for over 50 years.

Born May 24, 1937, in Washington D.C., a daughter of the late Raleigh R and Betty N. Baum.

Betty grew up in Silver Spring and was a bus operator for Montgomery County Public Schools for over 30 years.

Surviving her are three sons:  Robert (Bob), Gerald (Jerry), and John (Mike), and many grand and great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by a son William (Billy) R. Smith in 1978.

Friends may call Friday December 27, at Molesworth-Williams Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus, Maryland from 10:00 a.m. until funeral services begin at 11:00 a.m.  Interment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, Maryland. 

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, American Cancer Society or Alzheimer’s Association.
