Andrew Haba Obituary
Mr. Andrew Haba, 91, died Friday, January 2, 2026, at his home in Clarksburg, Maryland.
He was the father of four children, an avid gardener and a Steelers fan.
Andrew taught at Gaithersburg High School for 33 years. He was a guidance counselor, and wrestling coach.
He was inducted into the Finlay Hall of Fame, also State of Maryland Wrestling Coaches Hall of Fame, and then the NCAA National Hall of Fame. Andrew was awarded Who’s Who Among Americas Teacher twice. He served in the U.S. Army.
Surviving is his son Adam Haba, his daughter Amanda Nickerson and three grandchildren Yasmine, Danny, and Mary.
The family will receive friends Thursday, January 15, from 10:00 a.m. until a Memorial Mass will be celebratedx at St. Ignatius of Loyola Catholic Church, 4103 Prices Distillery Road, Ijamsville, Maryland 21754 at 11:00 a.m. Inurnment will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens, Frederick, Maryland 21701.
