Robert "Robby" Tucker Obituary

Robert Merhle Tucker, Robby (with a “y” not “ie”!) passed away suddenly and unexpectedly, Friday, August 3. 2018, at Futurecare Cherrywood Rehabilitation Facility in Reisterstown, MD.

Robby was born July 22, 1969 and just celebrated his 49th birthday. He grew up in Damascus, and lived in Eldersburg with his sister, brother-in-law and nephew.

Robby received his certificate of completion of high school in 1990 from Thomas J Wooton High School in Rockville. He worked at the Damascus Safeway as a courtesy clerk from graduation until moving to Eldersburg, where he was employed at the time of his death. Robby loved his almost 30 years at Safeway and made many friends over the years.
Robby made an impact on everyone he met. From his classmates to his co-workers, customers, friends of his brothers and sister, co-workers of his sister and the many doctors and nurses that have treated him these last 2 years. Robby was someone you never forgot, nor did he forget you.

He was an avid fan of the Orioles and Redskins, regardless of how their season was. He would always say, “they’re coming back”. He also loved the WWE, cheesy 80’s music and country. He enjoyed going to many games and concerts over the years.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Mona Jean Tucker, his father, Merhle Thomas Tucker, his brother Steve Shortt, many aunts, uncles and both grandparents.

He is survived by his brother, Paul Shortt of Hedgesville, WV, his sister, Denise McCoy and husband John of Eldersburg, sister-in-law Vickie Shortt of New Castle, CO, nephew Jake Shortt and his wife Malia of Front Royal, VA, nephew Nik McCoy of Eldersburg, and his dog Archie that he loved very much.
He is also survived by his uncles Gerv Mullins, Barry Boswell and Larry Boswell, aunts Georgia Tucker and Peggy Bentley, great nieces Maisie and Stevie, great nephews Tyler and Ashton and cousins Randy, Jim, Dawn, Devan, Darrah, Jeff, Lindsey, Jeremy, Ashley, Jordan, Hailey, Bella, Dylan, Madison, Penelope, Atlas, Nicholas, Tommy, Stan and Gail, and many many imaginary friends.
