Robert R. Newman

Mr. Robert “Bobby” Roy Newman Jr., 79 of Laytonville, Maryland, peacefully passed away April 19, 2018 with family by his side at MedStar Montgomery Hospital in Olney, Maryland.

Born January 19, 1939 in Chesterfield County, Virginia. Robert was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, and brother. Preceded in death by wife Ella Marie Newman, and parents Robert Roy Newman Sr. and Virginia Wright Newman. Survived by his five daughters, Julie Snyder, Sandra Newman, Deborah Beall, Patricia Newman, and Tracy Daniels; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Snyder, Richard Newman, Karen-Elizabeth Snyder, Michael Newman, Avery Dailey, Rowan Dailey, and Ella Daniels; and siblings Charlotte Banks, Roberta Collins, and Douglas Newman.

Bobby enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. In his free time, he enjoyed working with his hands weather it be working on automobiles, woodworking or working outside on the Newman family property.  He also enjoyed watching old western movies and going out to eat. He was able to fulfill a lifelong dream of traveling the country with family.

The family will be receiving friends on Sunday, April 22, from 4 to 7pm at Molesworth-Williams Funeral Home 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus. A celebration of life is to be held at the funeral home on Monday, April 23 at 11am. Following service, he will be laid to rest with his beloved wife at Parklawn Memorial Park in Rockville.
