Patricia Rhinecker Obituary

Mrs. Patricia “Pat” Anne Rhinecker of Frederick, and formerly of Damascus, entered peacefully into eternal rest with her family by her side on Saturday, March 16 under the loving care of the angels of the FMH Hospice of Frederick County.

She was the loving wife of the late Floyd “Bud” Ellsworth Rhinecker, her husband of 34 years.  She was born on August 5, 1939, near Harrisville.  She was the daughter of the late Aubrey and Rhoda Stull Fritz.

Pat graduated from Damascus High School in 1957.  She retired after 25 years of service from the Federal government working at the Department of Energy in Germantown.

She was a member of the Prospect United Methodist Church in Mt. Airy.  She enjoyed cooking, keeping her home impeccably clean (we called her “Hazel”), playing bingo, attending family gatherings, putting together puzzles, taking trips to the beach, and playing cards with her family.  For many years, she attended Frederick Keys baseball games as part of the “Mt. Airy Gang”.  She was an avid Baltimore Orioles and Washington Capitals fan and loved watching their games on television.  She made many bus trips traveling with the Diakonia Travel Group.

She loved canning foods with her husband, and the fruits of their labor were generously shared with their family and friends.  Her favorite pastime was spending time outdoors in her gardens, and she loved nurturing her many indoor plants as well as her many gardens and planters in her yard.

Pat is survived by her children Grayson Ramsburg Jr. and husband Lyle Furr; Cathy Ramsburg Clarke and husband Tommy; Valinda Justice and husband Ernie; Brenda Beaver and husband Bruce; and Floyd (Buddy) Rhinecker Jr. and wife Tina.  Also surviving are grandchildren Justin Clarke, Colin Clarke, and Austin Clarke; Kevin Justice and wife Kristy; Cory Justice and wife Melanie; Travis Morris and wife Jessica; Nicole Stambaugh and husband Kenny; and her granddogs Shelby and Caesar.  Great grandchildren include Gianna DeCastri, Charlie Justice, Raelyn Stambaugh; Blake Stambaugh; and Nova Gracie Morris.

Also surviving is a brother, Charlie Fritz and wife Alice; and two sisters, Sally Dodd and Betty Conaway.  Pat is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and several special sisters-in-law and also by her first husband Grayson Ramsburg Sr. and wife Sylvia.  Pat was predeceased by her sisters Mary Brashear; Marion Brashear; and Ellamay Bolton; and brothers Aubrey (Junior) Fritz; Francis (Peck) Fritz; Stanley Fritz; William Fritz; Ervin (Jim) Fritz; Bob Fritz; and Alvin (Butch) Fritz.

The family extends a special “thank you” to the nurses and staff of the FMH Hospice of Frederick County for their exceptional caring and compassion during Mom’s transition.

The family will receive friends at the Molesworth-Williams P.A. Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus on Thursday, March 21 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

A celebration of Pat’s life journey will take place at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 22 at Molesworth-Williams PA Funeral Home with Reverend Guy S. Johnson from Glade United Church of Christ officiating.  Interment will be at Prospect United Methodist Church in Mt. Airy.
