Lois A. Daly

Lois Ann Daly, age 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on December 18, 2018 due to complications from Parkinson’s disease. 

Lois was born on Christmas Day in 1931 in Yonkers, NY.  After meeting and marrying her love, Jim, they lived briefly in Yonkers and then settled in West Nyack, NY.  They raised four children there until Jim's career with IBM brought the family to Gaithersburg in 1973.  

Lois was a dedicated homemaker and lovingly cared for her children, and later, her grandchildren at her home.  Lois enjoyed knitting, crocheting, and making cross-stitched baby blankets.  Being surrounded by family was her most precious joy and she opened her heart and her home to all.  

Lois was a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church in Gaithersburg. 

She is survived by her children, sons Jim and Tom (Laura), her daughters Laurie Hart (Tim), and Leslie Roeger (Jeff), and her beloved grandchildren; Tom Daly, Matthew Daly, Julie Hart, Jenna Hart, Drew Hart, and Lauren Roeger.  She was predeceased by her husband James Noel Daly, her parents Leslie Linsenbarth and Alice Ryan Linsenbarth, her brother Leslie Linsenbarth, her daughter-in-law Dani Lynn Daly, and her grandson Patrick Daly.  

Memorial donations may be made to Sister Pat's Kids Cancer Camp, c/o St. Helen's Parish, 1600 Rahway Ave, Westfield, NJ 07090. 

A memorial service will be held at Damascus United Methodist Church, 9700 New Church Street, Damascus, MD on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 1:00 p.m.  A reception will follow at the church. 

We invite anyone who was lucky enough to have received one of her baby blankets to bring it to the memorial service for display.
