Thomas F. Burkhard, 73, (MCPD Ret’d) of Damascus, MD passed away peacefully December 25, 2016. Born May 4, 1943 in Johnstown, PA. He was the son of the late Elaine and Henry Burkhard.

He served in the United States Army from 1965-67. Thomas was devoted to his family and is survived by his wife of 35 years, Marguerite Burkhard; sons, Michael Byrne & wife, Jessica of Southlake, TX, Matthew Byrne & wife, Shelly of Frederick, MD; four cherished grandchildren, Blair, Regan, Madeline & Graham.  He is also survived by sister, Brenda Olbrys & husband, John, of Ashburn, VA and brother, Dan Burkhard of Capitola, CA.

Friends may call at Molesworth-Williams, P.A., Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus, MD, Thursday, December 29, 2016, 3-5 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. 

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, December 30, 2016, 11 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church, 9240 Damascus Road, Damascus, MD.  Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, 13801 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD.
