Rosemary Burdette Friend, a long-time resident of Gaithersburg, Maryland, died on July 15th at the age of 66.

Rosemary was born in Montgomery County, Maryland to Perry George Burdette and Doris Stanley Burdette on June 15, 1950. She went to school at Damascus High School. She married David Friend in October of 1972 in Damascus. She worked as a Master Gardener for Montgomery College for five years. She was a wonderful homemaker and mother to her three sons.

Rosemary loved working in her garden and socializing. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with family and friends, and had a wonderful sense of humor.  She was the life of the party.

Rosemary is survived by her siblings Barbara Ann Burdette, Ruth Hobbs, and Johnny Burdette; her sons Mark, Matthew, and Michael Friend; her daughters-in-law Katie Friend and Allison Davis; her grandchild Ryan Friend; and all who live near Montgomery County and brought great joy to her later years.

Rosemary’s family extends their sincere thanks to the doctors and nurses at Georgetown Hospital, the nurses and volunteers at Montgomery County Hospice, and in-home caregivers Hawawu Rahaman and Tarezeh Mensch.

Friends may call 7-9 p.m., Tuesday July 19th, at Molesworth- Williams Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus, Maryland

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday July 20 at Wesley Grove United Methodist Church, 23640 Woodfield Road, Gaithersburg, Maryland 20882.   Interment will follow in the cemetery.
