Maria Grace Saia, 38, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2016, at Kline Hospice House. Maria was born September 27, 1977 in Wheaton, MD.  Her family moved to Damascus when she was two years old.  She was a 1995 graduate of Damascus High School.

Maria worked many years as a controller for Canyon Concrete in Mount Airy, MD. She then sought out the city life when she moved to Bethesda, MD in 2015. There she worked as an Accounting Manager at Gilbane in Arlington, VA. 

Maria is survived by her sister Tammy Cross, brother Troy Saia, brother in law Brent Cross, nephews; Austin Cross, Tyler Cross, Tommy Saia, and niece, Ava Cross. She was a much loved cousin and niece. Maria was a kind, funny, and fiercely independent woman with an infectious smile. Maria was committed to being the very best aunt to her cherished nephews and niece, who adored her. She was considered a second mother to them and will now be their guardian angel always. Beautiful Maria loved life and she was a wonderful friend to so many.   Maria will always be remembered for her sense of humor, her kind spirit and the joyfulness that surrounded her. Most of all she was the very best sister. Maria is irreplaceable by those that love her and she will be deeply and forever missed.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m, on Sunday, June 12, at Molesworth Williams Funeral Home 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus, Maryland, 20872. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Joseph Pierce, 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 13 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 9250 Damascus Road, Damascus, Md. 20872. Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Maria’s name   to Kline Hospice House, 7000 Kimmel Road, Mount Airy, Md. 21771
