Jack Franklin Poole, 80, of Frederick, Maryland, died Sunday, July 9, 2017 at University of Maryland Medical Center in Baltimore, Md. of a hemorrhagic stroke.

He was born December 21, 1936 at his family home in Damascus, the son of the late Roger F. and Susie Gue Poole.

Jack graduated from Damascus High School, class of 1955. He attended Montgomery College and graduated from Strayer Business College. He started his career with Erie Insurance as a Claims Adjuster and then became a District Sales Manager. In 1969 he became a Principal Agent/Owner of the Walker-Poole Insurance Agency. He retired in 2003.

He enjoyed his family, boating on the Chesapeake Bay, living on the Eastern Shore, and wintering in Florida.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years Susan Margaret Rice Poole and four children: Cheryl Hershey (Paul), Carol Whiting (Stephen), David Poole (Rebecca) and Christie Spencer (Howard); 

eleven grandchildren: Peter Hershey (Rachel), Stephen Hershey (Kate), Jeffrey Hershey, Candace Whiting, Tyson Whiting (Caroline), Zachary Whiting, Joshua Poole, Jessica Poole, Andrew Spencer, Nathan Spencer, Lauren Spencer and one great-grandchild Anna Hershey.

Visitation will be held from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, July 13, at Molesworth-Williams Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus, Maryland 20872. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, July 14 at Damascus United Methodist Church, 9700 New Church Street, Damascus, Maryland. Interment will follow in Damascus United Methodist Church Cemetery.
