Doris S. Roening passed on to heaven peacefully at her home in Clarksburg, Maryland, Saturday, March 4, 2017 after a long and fulfilling life.

 She was born in West New York, NJ, November 10, 1924 to Herman and Sadie Diegler.  She married the late Robert L. Roening, also of West New York and Clarksburg, and they had two children, Robert T. Roening (Sandra) of Bergenfield, NJ and Janice (Daniel Wright) of Clarksburg, where Doris had lived the last ten years.  

After moving to Clarksburg in 2006 Doris and her husband became members of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Damascus, and had many friends and associates there.  

There will be a viewing, Wednesday, March 8, at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 27015 Ridge Road, Damascus, Maryland 20872, from 10 a.m. until funeral services begin at 11.  Interment will follow in All Souls Cemetery, Germantown, Md.  

She is survived by her children, five grandchildren, and two great-grandsons.
