Dolores Naehr Smith, 88, of Damascus, MD, passed away September 27, 2017 at her residence with her loving family by her side. She was the wife of the late George Coleman Smith and daughter of the late Harry Frederick and Grace Reich Naehr. She was devoted to her family and servant to her faith as a member of St. Paul’s Catholic Church. She was an avid sports fan, religiously following the Redskins and Nationals, and enjoyed playing bridge and Scrabble.

Dolores is survived by her seven children and their spouses: Joan and Al Smith of Damascus; Diane and Dave Monk of Fayetteville, Arkansas; Cyndee and Joe Hitchcock of Frederick; Beverly and Tim Lambert of Westminster; G. Michael and Sue Smith of Lakeland, FL; Anita Cheadle of Derwood; and Larry Rick Smith of Damascus; twenty-two grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; three sisters: Betty Cooper, Terry Campbell and Marge Webb; and two brothers: Jim Naehr and Jerry Naehr . She was preceded in death by one sister, Mary June Naehr and two brothers: Harry Naehr and Bob Naehr.

The viewing will be held Tuesday, October 3, from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Molesworth-Williams Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus, MD.  The funeral will be held on Wednesday, October 4, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 9240 Damascus Road, Damascus, MD. Interment will follow at All Souls Cemetery in Germantown.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to St. Paul’s Catholic Church or Christ Community Church (In Support of Nicholas Cheadle), 200 Ellis Place, State College, PA 16801.
