Mrs. Catherine Crown Stinson (Kitty) 94 of Mount Airy, Maryland formerly of Gaithersburg, MD died Tuesday December 20, 2016, at Frederick Memorial Hospital, Frederick. She was the beloved wife of the late Clyde A. Stinson  who passed away July 2014.  They were married 67 years.  

Born August 30, 1922 in Gaithersburg, MD she was the only daughter of the late Forrest Franklin and Ruby Briggs Crown.  

Mrs. Stinson worked her early years at the Treasury Department in Washington DC, then later became a homemaker.  She loved  farm life, the many animals, her large vegetable garden, and many beautiful flowers, along with cooking for everyone.   She loved being around her family members, and all the many children of the family that were in her life. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church Gaithersburg.  Kitty was the last remaining immediate member of the Crown Family. 

 Surviving are her son Daniel F Stinson (wife Pam) of Mount Airy, daughter Linda L Cudd (husband Johnny) of Flat Rock, NC, Four grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren. A niece Jane Marie Wilks, and Nephew James Kenneth Crown.    She was preceded in death by three Brothers: James Forrest Crown (wife Lorraine), Charlie Oliver Crown (wife Evelyn), and Robert Franklin Crown. A Special thanks to her friend and caregiver Martha Macharia who watched over her for a year and a half.

Friends may call at Molesworth-Williams Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, Damascus, Maryland 20872, Friday, December 30, from 10 a.m. until service time at 11:00 a.m.  Interment will follow in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Frederick.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made in Kitty’s name to Grace United Methodist Church, 119 North Frederick Avenue, Gaithersburg, Maryland 20877.
