Susan A. Gotard

Susan Ann Gotard, age 59 of Germantown, MD passed away on April 15, 2024, at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital surrounded by her family.  She was born in Cheverly, MD on April 7, 1965.  Susan was a graduate of Damascus High School and Montgomery College.  She is survived by her partner, Andrew Broadie of Germantown, MD, her parents, Charles and Joyce Gotard of Middletown, MD and brothers, Michael (Terry) of McLean and Bedford, VA and James (Kimberly) of Damascus, MD.  Susan leaves behind many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Susan loved being outside and enjoyed long walks in nature, making many friends along the way.  She had a strong faith and often spent quiet time alone at church praying for others and talking with God.  Susan sang in the choir and shared her faith with those who crossed her path.  Her memory was remarkable.  She never forgot a name, a face, a birthdate, or any other small detail about a person.  She also enjoyed volunteering at her local library, and she loved animals.  Susan was a kind and thoughtful person who always put other people first. 

The family will receive friends on Thursday, April 25, from 6 to 8pm at Molesworth-Williams Funeral Home, 26401 Ridge Road, in Damascus, MD.  A funeral service will be held at 11am, on Friday, April 26, at the Funeral Home.  Interment will follow in All Souls Cemetery, Germantown, MD.
